However, even the on-site rental car agencies at the Sacramento International Airport require travelers to use a shuttle to get to the agency counters and rental car parking lots.
On-Site Airport Rental Car Agencies
Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, Enterprise, and National are all located on-site at the Sacramento International Airport. Avis, Budget, Hertz, and National all offer vehicles for people who have handicaps and disabilities that require vehicles with special equipment. The agencies are open 24 hours a day, every day of the week.
The Sacramento International Airport provides complementary shuttles for all travelers renting a vehicle at any of the on-site rental agencies. The shuttles run every 15 minutes all day long. Passengers can wait for the shuttle to pick them up beneath the blue signs that feature keys outside the arrival terminals. The same shuttles will return passengers to the airport after they return their rental car.
The airport does warn passengers that the shuttles do have peak times when a wait might occur. This happens daily from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.

The same shuttles will bring renters back to the airport after they return their rental car. They are on hand at both off-site car rental agencies to transport passengers back to the airport to catch their return flight on time.
