Car Rental at Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport

There are 11 rental car agencies located in the Mineta San Jose International Airport in California. Of the 11, all are located on-site at the airport. However, depending on the terminal passengers land in, they might have to take a shuttle to the airport rental car agency counters. All of the airport rental car agencies operate different hours; only Avis is open 24 hours per day. Fox, Hertz, and Advantage open at 5 a.m., Thrifty, National, Dollar, and Alamo each open at 5:30 a.m., Payless and Budget open at 6 a.m., and Enterprise opens at 7 a.m.

Advantage, Budget, Dollar, Payless, and Thrifty remain open until midnight. National and Alamo are open until 12:20 a.m., Fox until 1:30 a.m., and Hertz until 2:30 a.m. Enterprise is open until 11:30 p.m. Sunday to Friday and until 8 p.m. on Saturday. Some rental agencies may have vehicles that accommodate handicap and disabled people. Travelers should check with each agency for more information regarding this.

Travelers can get to the rental car agency counters by taking either a shuttle or walking. Passengers who land in terminal B get to walk; passengers who land in terminal A must take the shuttle. The rental car agency center is across the walkway from the baggage claim area in terminal B.

Passengers who land in terminal A must take a blue shuttle to the airport rental car center. The shuttle bus is blue, and it is marked as an inter-terminal bus. It will take passengers from terminal A over to terminal B where they can exit and walk across the walkway to the rental car agency center. Anyone who returns their rental car to the rental car center and needs to catch a flight in Terminal A will catch the same bus to take them back to their terminal. Renters should allow for a few extra minutes to take the shuttle bus back to their terminal after they return their rental cars.
