Car Rental at El Paso International Airport

The El Paso International Airport in Texas has nine rental car facilities that operate out of the airport. These rental car facilities provide travelers with the ability to rent a car at the airport after their flight lands. These rentals can be anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks or longer depending on the needs of the traveler. All of the rental car agencies operate under their own set of hours, which means travelers flying in at off-peak times, such as the middle of the night, should opt to make special arrangements to pick up their rental car.

Alamo, Avis, Hertz, Thrifty, National, Enterprise, Advantage, Dollar, and Budget are all car rental agencies with locations in the El Paso International Airport. These agencies each offer a variety of rental cars. Drivers can select cars from the following categories: sedan, coupe, convertible, truck, van, minivan, SUV, luxury, and hybrid. To ensure that renters get the exact rental car they want, they should book their reservation prior to their arrival; otherwise rental agencies cannot guarantee availability of any specific type of rental car. They can also book car seats and GPS systems this way.

To pick up their rental car, passengers arriving at the El Paso International Airport must first claim their baggage and then head to the rental car counter in the baggage claim area of the airport. From there, they must present the rental car agency with a valid driver’s license. No one without a license is permitted to rent a car from any rental agency. Additionally, rental car agencies require some form of payment. While all rental car agencies accept major credit cards, some accept debit cards and even cash. All people who use a debit card should know that the rental car agency will place a hold on their bank account for up to one week. This hold is typically in the $200 range and it is not automatically released upon returning the rental car to the agency.
